Founder and President of Ethiopia Stroke Initiative
Dr. Wondwossen is the founder of two American based organizations, Ethiopia Stroke Initiative and Ethiostrokecare PLLC, that are established to support stroke care in Ethiopia. Ethiostrokecare PLLC has partnered with Samaritan Surgical Center (a local state-of-the art surgical hospital) to create Axon Stroke and Spine Center. Ethiopia Stroke Initiative is a non-for-profit organization established with a goal of advancing stroke care in Ethiopia through capacity building which will include supporting fellowship training in stroke and neurointerventional surgery, stroke research and public education. ESI will be collaborating with Axon Stroke and Spine Center and Addis Ababa University College of Health Sciences to sponsor fellowship training in stroke and neurointerventional surgery at Axon Stroke and Spine Center.
